Crash cover artwork
In 2008, the Times Online ran a competition to design a new cover for a 25th anniversary edition of J.G Ballard's controversial novel, Crash. Unfortunately the competition was put on hold, and Ballard (who was due to be on the judging panel), has since passed away. Despite this, the Crash competition gave me the opportunity to explore many different approaches and ways to interpret the novel.

The challenge for me was to create a cover that would stand out on the shelf but indirectly portray the violent, sexual and somewhat disturbed themes of the story, while remaining commercially viable.
