Industrial Sky
Industrial Sky
is best described as “music for a science-fiction film
yet to be made” – this album is inspired by classic
science-fiction films such as Westworld,
Logan’s Run, Soylent Green, 1984 and countless episodes of Doctor Who. More recently
films such as Equilibrium and I, Robot have captured the same sterile vision of
the future, or the rise of technology, and rebellion of the
machines.
This album was also inspired by many
electronic musicians such as Gary Numan, John Foxx, Kraftwerk
and Depeche Mode. I wanted the music to be dark, heavy and
powerful, sometimes layering several drum loops, to try and
emulate the thunder of big machinery.
Having experimented with two opposing
styles of instrumental music, I now wanted to combine the two
styles and create something much darker, colder and heavier.
The result is Industrial Sky.
