Tranquility

Tranquility is not a concept-based album like Discovery or Industrial Sky - although I do find it difficult to avoid concepts when making instrumental music. The themes on Tranquility are more song based rather than something that runs through the whole album. If anything, I wanted the overall sound and mood to be uplifting and relaxing - or tranquil to be precise. However it’s actually quite a dark album, but sometimes you have to go through the darkness in order to reach the light.

Tranquility actually started out as a set simple and minimalistic piano pieces. However, I was listening to a lot of Jarre's music at the time, and I felt the usual urge to try and make something that followed a more dreamy and ambient style.
